Techology & Combat Characteristics
The BABI is designated an "Aerial Manuever Attacker", thus designated "AMA". Designed as an aerial mobile suit, the BABI is able to transform into a high-speed mobile armor mode, like that of Orb's MVF-M11C Murasame. The suit is armed with an MA-M343 beam rifle and an MMI-M182 air gunlauncher in its hands, and a chest-mounted MGX-2237 "Ardor" multi-phase beam cannon similar to that of the ZGMF-X31S Abyss Gundam. In mobile armor mode, it can also use two wing-mounted QFJ91 12-barrel missile launcher and four MMI-GAU2436 22.5mm 4-barrel machine guns. Some of the BABI's internal parts are compatible with those of the ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited.

History
The AMA-953 BABI is ZAFT's latest aerial mobile suit, designed to supplement and eventually replace the older AMF-101 DINN.
The Babi is first seen at ZAFT's Carpentaria base, and their first recorded use is in the pursuit of a shuttle stolen by Lacus Clyne and Andrew Waltfeld in C.E. 73. They are later used in such important battles like the one in Berlin, where they try to stop the massive GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam, with no success however. Other units are used in the LOGOS capture operation during the attack on Heaven's Base as well as Operation Fury, during which ZAFT attacks the Orb Union.

Notes & Trivia
- The BABI has much similarity to the RX-139 Hambrabi from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Other than similar names, they are both transforming units, and also share some shape similarities, such as their heads.
