Summary[]

Stella's condition worsens and Shinn overhears Captain Talia telling a doctor that the PLANT Supreme Council wants a living extended and Stella won't be living much longer. With the help of Rey, Shinn forcedly takes the dying Stella from the Minerva's sickbay and returns her to Neo Roanoke.

Plot[]

The survivors of the Orb forces from the previous battle have joined the Archangel. Amagi tells Cagalli the last words of Todaka and explains that he and the others came to the Archangel because they want to fight for Orb’s ideals. Kira and the others welcome them.

Meanwhile, the Minerva, after the fierce battle, had to stop for repair and re-supply despite being very close to Gibraltar. Being yelled at by Kira and Saviour Gundam severely damaged, Athrun mopes. Shinn is frustrated that he can’t help Stella, and gives Athrun the cold shoulder.

Later, Shinn overhears a conversation between Talia and the doctor and is dumbfounded. Stella will die regardless of what is done, and even if she lives, she will be handed over to the homeland and end up a lab rat. He needs to return Stella to the Earth Alliance if he wants to save her. Shinn takes Stella out with Rey’s help and contact the Alliance using the IFF code of Gaia Gundam, telling Neo to come get her.

On the coast at dawn, Shinn and Neo stand facing each other. Shinn asks Neo to promise to take Stella away from war, and hands over her. Shinn gives Stella a small shell in a bottle and asks her not to forget him. He runs off, wiping off tears that have run down his cheek.

Quotes[]

Kira: "Don't cry, Cagalli. All we know right now is that things are not okay as they are."
Amagi: "Kira... Yamato."
Kira: "But we don't know what has to be done, or how. In all likelihood, attacking ZAFT won't do us any good, and neither will attacking the Earth Forces. Since we've already done that many times. That's why the hatred never stops. And that's why the fighting won't end. And even us. Maybe we're' wrong because we keep on fighting. I'm sure that all of us, including the PLANTs and Earth, just want a world where we can live happily. So, um... if you're thinking along the same lines, ah..."
Amagi: "Indeed. Mr. Kira. We didn't come here with the intention of seeking revenge, or because we wanted to fight. We're soldiers who entered the military because we believe in Orb's ideals. We'd like to fight for Orb's true ideals! We fully understand that it will be difficult. And that's exactly why we want to join you on this ship, lady Cagalli."
Cagalli: "Amagi..."
Kira: "I understand. I apologize for my rude comments. Welcome Aboard."
