After War
From the The Gundam Wiki, the ultimate guide to Gundam
After War Gundam X, also known as New Mobile Century Gundam X, started airing in Japan on April 5th, 1996 and ran till December 28th, 1996. Produced by Sunrise and directed by Shinji Takamatsu, it is the third Gundam series to appear outside of the Universal Century timeline, taking place in an separate universe from the original. Created after the successful run of Mobile Suit Gundam WING, the series proved to be less popular due to its lack of elements used in the WING series, and was moved to a less favorable time slot. The move dropped the viewing rate further, causing other producers to drop out and shortening the 49-50 episodes planned for the series to only 39 to finish it before cancellation. After being canceled the series took up a following inside of the Gundam fan community as being one of the under rated series made, giving rise to the series continuing on in video games, manga, and in box set DVD releases. The manga that follow with or continue to tell the story of the After War era are, After War Gundam X: Under the Moonlight and After War Gundam X: Newtype Warrior Jamil Neate, both of currently only available in Japan.
