Technical Informations

Armory One is a PLANT-type colony which however is not located at Lagrange 5 (where all other PLANTs are situated), but instead at Lagrange 4. As its name suggests the colony serves as a military arsenal for ZAFT and includes a large number of military facilities and Mobile Weapons. The new Second Generation Gundams built by ZAFT were also stored at this colony, as was the new battleship Minerva.

Despite its military nature, the colony also holds large civilian facilities like shops.

History

Built some time after the Bloody Valentine War, Armory One was finished before September CE 73. It was in this month and year, that PLANT's new chairman Gilbert Durandal invited several reporters to the colony to watch a performance of ZAFT's newest mobile suits. Among these journalists were PLANT-news reporter Bernadette Leroux, freelance journalist Jess Rabble as well as Kaite Madigan. During the testing however several dangerous incidents happened.

On October 2, CE 73 Orb representatives Cagalli Yula Athha and Athrun Zala (who went under the codename Alex Dino) met with PLANT chairman Durandal at this colony to discuss the military use of Orb's technology by PLANT. On the same day, the Earth Alliance Phantom Pain special forces unit attacked the colony. Three of their new Extended pilots - Sting Oakley, Auel Neider and Stella Loussier - were able to sneak into a mobile suit hangar and steal three of the new Gundams, the ZGMF-X24S Chaos, the ZGMF-X31S Abyss and the ZGMF-X88S Gaia. While escaping they attack the military facilities and cause massive damage to them, before they are engaged in battle by Shinn Asuka in his ZGMF-X56S Impulse. They are nevertheless able to escape to their mothership, the Girty Lue, which in the meantime attacked the troops stationed outside the colony. To pursue the enemy ship, the Minerva was launched. The situation of the colony in the following Second Bloody Valentine War is unknown.
