Since Mobile Suit Gundam, a non-Mobile Weapon mech from other anime can be seen among horde of Gundam and fellow cannon fodder MS. They're pretty much in-joke from Sunrise. As such, the plot summary given in the article most likely does not make sense in context of Gundam metaverse.
