The Compton-class is a class of land battleships featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny television series.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
Being a land battleship, the Compton-class is heavily armed with beam cannons, machine guns and missile launchers. In terms of beam weaponry, the battleship mounts two dual beam cannons, while shell-firing weapons are made up of two triple projectile cannons and four quadruple machine cannons. Lastly, the greatest amount of weaponry comes in form of missile launchers, which include 32 heavy missile launchers and 20 anti-aircraft missile launchers.
Besides these fixed armaments, the Compton-class can carry at least 31 mobile suits, which makes this class of land battleships function also as carriers. The Compton-class dominates the land.

The Compton-class heavy land battleships are a new addition to ZAFT's ground battleships, they are fielded after the First Alliance-PLANT War. Unlike their predecessors, the Lesseps-class land battleship, the Compton-class vessels use four large tank-like tracks for propulsion, similar to the Hannibal-class Earth Alliance vessel (this is due to the scale system being slowed down in non-desert terrain).
At least three Compton-class battleships are known to have been deployed on the Eurasian front. Two of these were destroyed by the GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam during its rampage across central Eurasia, and a third, the Uhlenbeck, was involved in Operation Angel Down, a mission to eliminate the independent battleship Archangel. The Uhlenbeck later got reinforcements from the ZAFT flagship Minerva.
