F90D Gundam F90 Destroid Type (aka Gundam Formula 90 Destroid Type) is a variant of the F90 Gundam F90. It was featured in the prequel manga Mobile Suit Gundam F90.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The F90 Gundam F90 Destroid Type is the Gundam F90 equipped with the Destroid Type equipment. The Destroid Type equipment is designed to improve the F90's overall combat ability while at the same time maintaining a balance between a heavy firepower long-range support mobile suit with a high mobility close-range mobile suit. The F90's firepower is increased by the addition of arm mounted rocket launchers, shoulder mounted grenade launchers, a waist mounted mega machine gun, and a pair of mobile suit cracker grenades mounted on the front of the skirt armor. To balance out the weight of the additional armaments additional rocket thrusters and vernier thrusters are mounted on the machine, dramatically increasing speed and mobility.

History

The Destroid Type was developed as one of several armaments packages designed for F90 prototype mobile suit's development. The equipment was likely designed to be tested on the F90 to aid in the development of future mobile suit weapons.
