The Bromb Texter Pre-Production Type "Zero" is a prototype Man-Machine used by the Federation’s Man Hunters. It makes its appearance in the novel Gaia Gear.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Bromb Texter Type Zero is the prototype of the later Bromb Texter Production Type. A poorly designed machine initially, its horrible thruster placement and alignment caused it to be incredibly difficult to control for average pilots. Though it is quite advanced, most of its technologies are evolutions of pre-existing tech. The unit required extensive adjustments and calibrations for it to serve viably as a manhunter commander unit and close quarter fighting unit.

- Beam rifle
The Baseline weapon for all man machines. The Zero type Bromb Texter's beam rifle is a powerful and versatile weapon. Upon close inspection and from what little information is known. The weapons resembles an upgraded version of the beam rifle found on the F91 Gundam F91; with similar technologies found in the unit's VSBR weapons integrated into the weapon itself.
- Beam saber
Concealed within the wrists of the man machine, the Zero Type Bromb Texter has a pair of beam sabers the unit can utilize in close combat with other enemy man machines.
- Shield
An uncommon occurrence with the Zero Type Bromb Texter, the unit has access and possesses an early version of the Bromb Texter Production Type's shoulder shields, however, due to the fact the shield's placement impeded the use of the unit's I-field generators; it was often discarded in combat in favor of the unit's I-field and it's increased defensive capabilities.
- Missiles
Housed within four compartments spread between the man machine's shoulder armor. The Zero-Type Bromb Texter has access to four large missiles it can use for medium to long range bombardments.
- Hyper beam launcher
A weapon that would see full adoption as the primary weapon of the production type Bromb Texter, the unit has access to an upgraded version of it's own standard beam rifle that has increased output and longer range. This weapon was often used by the production type Bromb Texters, as they possessed the better generators to accommodate it's high demand for energy, but regardless, the unit would still be capable of wielding this weapon as well.

- I-field barrier generator
The main piece of defensive gear for the Zero-Type Bromb Texter, the Unit possessed two I-Field generators located within the unit's upper-forearms. These I-fields weren't the most powerful, as the unit's power was largely dedicated to it's thrusters and maneuverability. However, we're still adequate enough to serve as it's primary defensive measure against beam attacks.
History[]
Utilized by The Manhunters of the U.C.200's, as it's mainline man machine unit for use in space, the Bromb Texter Zero-Type would serve under the division's 8th Bromb Texter Company; later becoming the mainline unit for the entire force of the Manhunters. It's thrusters and systems were incredibly difficult to calibrate; as the unit wasn't designed by people who hailed from the colonies. But regardless of these errors, the unit was eventually upgraded. With it's shortcomings corrected and the unit would see adoption as the Manhunter's primary workhorse unit after the phasing out of the aging UM-190B.I Gussa and it's space-use version, the UM-190B.II Gussa Improved Performance Type. It would serve well during the opening stages of the Manhunter's conflict with the forces of Metatron, but would be gradually phased out by the later variants of the Bromb Texter, once the conflict was driven earth-side after the Manhunter's coup d'état against the Earth Federation government had begun.
