Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team Side Story Trivial Operation (機動戦士ガンダム第08MS小隊外伝 TRIVIAL OPERATION?) is a short novel series that was serialised in Dengeki Hobby Magazine from 1999 to 2001. Under the direction of Umanosuke Iida (who directed the second half of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team), it was written by Toru Sonozaki, illustrations by Yukitoshi Houtani.
Story[]
In the year Universal Century 0079, three Gogg units began operations to recapture the California base, which was once again taken back by the Federation Forces. Among them was Warrant Officer Rachel Ferguson, an ecologist and novice female pilot. Rachel belongs to the Malenko Platoon, which is tossed about by the raging sea while carrying out a mission to seize the federal port facility, which is the beginning of the California Base recapture operation, and Rachel gets separated from the other two planes...
