The AEU-05OP AEU Hellion Orbit Package (aka AEU Hellion Space Type) is a variant of the AEU-05/05 AEU Hellion Perpetuum. It first appeared in season 1 of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The AEU Hellion Orbit Package is the space variant of the standard AEU-05/05 AEU Hellion Perpetuum. It has a different head unit and space use parts with enhanced thruster functions are mounted on its back instead of the original's flight unit. Its known armaments include a linear gun with two grenades and a large missile container.

As the AEU Hellion series is actively exported around the world by the AEU, even terrorists can obtain machines like the AEU Hellion Orbit Package. It serves as AEU's primary space mobile suit until the appearance of the AEU-09 AEU Enact Space Type, and is still used by the Earth Sphere Federation Forces years later without any changes in basic performances.

Armaments

• Linear Gun

A small rifle that fires electromagnetically accelerated shells. It also carries two grenades.

• Large Missile Container

Also known simply as 'Missile Container', it was used by terrorists when they attacked the HRL's Orbital Elevator in AD 2307. Jointly hauled by two of the terrorists' AEU Hellion Orbit Packages, it holds up to 6 large missiles.

History

In AD 2307, a group of terrorists acquired and used four AEU Hellion Orbit Packages to attack the HRL's Orbital Elevator during its 10th anniversary celebration. However, this attack was intercepted and stopped by Celestial Being's GN-003 Gundam Kyrios and GN-005 Gundam Virtue.

Even after the introduction of the AEU-09 AEU Enact Space Type and the GN Drive Tau-equipped mobile suits some time later, the AEU Hellion Orbit Package remained in service. They were also acquired and deployed by the anti-Federation organization Katharon in AD 2312. In AD 2314, the AEU Hellion Orbit Package was one of the many machines deployed by the Earth Sphere Federation Forces during the conflict with the alien life forms known as the ELS.
