The Gilla-Shiki (煌式 Gira Shiki?) is a Gunpla based on the MSN-001M Mega-Shiki. It is part of the Hobby Hobby Imaging Builders series and was available as a P-Bandai exclusive HGBF 1/144 Gunpla kit.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The Gilla-Shiki is very similar to its base Gunpla, the MSN-001M Mega-Shiki, except for its new gold color scheme and the replacement of the Mega Ride Launcher backpack with one used by MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. However, this backpack uses the Mega-Shiki's wing binders instead of the Hyaku Shiki's. In terms of armament, the Gilla-Shiki retains the Mega-Shiki's head vulcan guns and beam swords, but uses a new beam rifle.

The Gilla-Shiki was originally meant to have the same purple color scheme as the Mega-Shiki, but its builder, Shunsuke Sudou, gave up on the idea as he could not replicate the special anti-beam paint. Although the Gilla-Shiki was created for artistic build and study instead of Gunpla Battle, it still has excellent combat capabilities. The Plavsky Particles that are previously reserved for the Mega-Shiki's Mega Ride Launcher are now available for use by the entire Gunpla.

Armaments[]

  • Vulcan Gun
Mounted in the head, the pair of vulcan guns have a high-rate of fire but little penetrating power. They can however damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors and are ideal for intercepting incoming missiles or enemy units at close range.
  • Beam Sword
The same beam swords as used by Mega-Shiki, they are stored on the wing binders at the back. Emitting yellow, katana-shaped beam blades, the pair of beam swords are powerful enough to pierce/slice through AMX-104GG R-Gyagya's sturdy shields, and using particle transformation, can cut through other beam sabers.
  • Beam Rifle
A slightly longer version of the beam rifle used by Hyaku Shiki. Although this beam rifle is smaller than the one used by Mega-Shiki, it has better focusing capability and higher accuracy.

History[]

Sometime after the conclusion of 13th Gunpla Battle Japanese U-19 Qualifiers Tournament, Sudou once again work up his skills as a Gunpla Builder. Realizing that he already had a good study material with him, Sudou started to modify the MSN-001M Mega-Shiki into a form closer to the original MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. This allowed him to study some of Gunpla Shingyo School's building techniques used by Minato Sakai.
