Eyphar Sinapus (エイパー・シナプス?) was a character introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. A Earth Federation Forces officer, he was the captain of the assault carrier MSC-07 Albion.

Personality & Character[]

Eyphar Sinapus was a grizzled veteran, with a commanding personality and a keen tactical mind. Originally dispatched to send the prototype Gundams to the Federation's Torrington Base for testing, Sinapus soon found himself charged with pursuing the stolen RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis". Well aware that he could expect little guidance or support from the Federation's upper ranks, Sinapus is often forced to rely on both his own judgement and his own sense of right and wrong.

Skills & Abilities[]

History[]

On October 13, U.C. 0083, Sinapus, captaining the Albion, transported two Gundams: the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" and the RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis", to Torrington Base for testing under gravity. Also on board was a team of engineers from Anaheim Electronics. However, the base was attacked by the Delaz Fleet, and Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato stole the Gundam Physalis.

Under the order of Vice Admiral John Cowen, Captain Sinapus led the Albion in pursuit of Gato and the Physalis. Before departing for Africa, he assigned Torrington Base instructor South Burning to be the company commander of the ship.

On October 23, the Albion arrived at the Kimberlite Base in Africa, a Zeon remnant hideout. However, despite the best effort of the ship, it failed to intercept the HLV carrying Gato and the Physalis, which was successfully launched into space.

In the manga remake Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Rebellion, Sinapus has an expanded role, and much of Operation Stardust is blamed on Sinapus's fabricated guilt.
