The QRX-006 Geminus is a prototype mobile armor. It was featured in episode 9 of Gundam Evolve.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Geminus was a massive prototype mobile armor shaped like a pyramid and capable of transforming into a humanoid form. It was said to have been developed by the Titans, though details are unclear.[1] According to one account, it was developed by the Chakra Laboratory, which later betrayed the Titans.[2] It was equipped with Psycommu, and was piloted by six "monks" with Newtype abilities[1] - Cyber Newtypes created at the Chakra Laboratory.[3]
The Geminus was fitted with a wide variety of weapons, including a mega particle cannon capable of attacking ground targets from orbit, an array of beam cannons, a pair of wireless, Psycommu-controlled arms equipped with beam cannons in the fingers, and 8 Psycommu mobile suits called "Hasta", which can detach from the main body and protect the Geminus.[3] It was nicknamed "Psycho Ship".[1]
Armaments[]
- Mega Particle Cannon
- A mega particle cannon mounted on the bottom of the lower half of the Geminus. It is capable of attacking ground targets from satellite orbit.[3]
- Beam Cannon
- Approximately 38 deflection beam cannons are mounted across the body of the Geminus.[3]
- Detachable Hand
- The Geminus can launch its arms as weapons. They are controlled via Psycommu, and can be used to capture enemy units. Each finger contains a beam cannon.[3]
- Hasta
- Eight wedge shaped units usually attached to the Geminus, they are controlled via Psycommu, can detach from the main body and transform into small mobile suit when required. Their arms and legs are fitted with beam guns that also double as beam sabers.[3]
Special Equipment & Features[]
- Psycommu System
- A man-machine interface exclusively for Newtypes. This system allows a Newtype pilot to control the mobile armor and its remote weaponry by thoughts alone.
History[]
In late December, U.C. 0087, the Geminus launched an attack on the Chakra Laboratory, which originally belonged to the Titans, but later defected to Karaba. After encountering and destroying AEUG's Stout fleet above Scandinavia, it engaged in battle with three of Karaba's Zeta Gundam Unit 3.[4]
During the battle, the Geminus ensnared the mind of one of the Zeta pilots, Yurii Ajissah, and held her "Red Zeta" in its right arm. The Geminus pilots somehow began extracting data from the Chakra Laboratory through her. The Geminus then began to bombard the Chakra Laboratory from orbit using its mega particle cannon. In response, the Chakra Laboratory commander, Blue Rose, fired anti-air missiles at the Geminus.
One of the remaining Zeta Unit 3 pilots, Gray Wolf, launched a suicide attack on the Geminus in his "Gray Zeta" in an unsuccessful attempt to free Yurii. The other Zeta Unit 3 pilot, White Unicorn, destroyed several Hastas in his "White Zeta", but was forced back by the anti-air missiles from the Chakra Lab just before he could free the captured Red Zeta. Geminus then launched its right arm at the White Zeta, grabbing it and sending it plummeting into Earth.
With the Red Zeta in hand, the Geminus began to retreat. However, responding to White Unicorn's call, Yurii was able to break free from the Geminus, both mentally and physically, and activated the Red Zeta's Psycho Neutralizer. Panicking, the Geminus pilots began wildly firing beams at the Red Zeta, which was able to deflect its beams using a barrier. The Geminus then sent its right arm at the Red Zeta, but the Red Zeta was able to take control of it with the Psycho Neutralizer and send it back at the Geminus, grabbing and crushing its head.
With its head destroyed, the Geminus fell to Earth, crashing into the Chakra Laboratory and causing a massive explosion, presumably destroying them both.

Notes & Trivia[]
- Hasta is a Sanskrit word meaning hand or hand gesture/position, and many other references to Buddhism are shown in Episode 9 such as the Chakra Laboratory and Yurii Ajissah resting on the palm of a giant Buddha statue in the ending credits.
- The Hasta mobile suits are very similar in concept to the Bit Mobile Suits of the After War era.
