The RGM-119D Jamesgun Desert Type is a variant of the RGM-119 Jamesgun from the Victory Gundam Mobile Suit Variations design series.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A variant of the Jamesgun, the RGM-119D Jamesgun Desert Type is specialized for combat in the desert environment. Outwardly, the Jamesgun Desert Type bears only a few differences to the Jamesgun, such as different sensors on the forehead and side vents; a new antennae on the backpack, two additional heat vents on the shoulder; and a different color scheme to better its camouflage. These modifications are all installed in the field by the AAAA Team (aka Four Avengers), a squad of EFGF veteran pilots.

Armaments

• Vulcan Gun

Mounted in the head, these pair of shell firing weapons have a high-rate of fire but little power and can't damage the thick armor of a mobile suit, though they can damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors. They are ideal for shooting down small, lightly armored targets such as missiles, attack vehicles, etc.

• Beam Saber

The beam saber emits high-energy Minovsky particles to form a blade-shaped I-field (via manipulation of electromagnetic fields), and then fills this I-field shell with superheated Minovsky particle plasma to produce an effective cutting blade. The Jamesgun Desert Type has two beam sabers stored in the hips.

• Beam Shield

Unlike an I-field generator, which is effective only against beam attacks, the beam shield blocks both beam and projectile weapons. The beam shield generates a plane of energy similar to the blade of a beam saber. This plane is divided into multiple sections, which can be turned on or off as needed to conserve energy. Individual sections are also automatically deactivated whenever they're in danger of coming into contact with the mobile suit itself. The Jamesgun Desert Type's beam shield is mounted on the left forearm.

• Beam Rifle

The standard handheld ranged beam weapon of the Jamesegun Desert Type is a beam rifle powered by a rechargeable E-Cap. Capable of firing concentrated mega particles, a shot from a beam rifle can damage any ordinary armor that has not been specially treated to resist it.

History

The AAAA Team (aka Four Avengers), a squad of EFGF veteran pilots, modified on site theirs Jamesguns into the Jamesgun Desert Type to better contend with BESPA's African district suppression forces. The AAAA Team's mobile suits later cooperated with the League Militaire’s nocturnal assault combat unit and the Bluebird Team, successfully stopping BESPA’s advancing forces near Kilimanjaro.
