The GNW-20000/J Jagd Arche Gundam (aka Jagd Arche Gundam, Jagd Arche) is a variant of the GNW-20000 Arche Gundam introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam 00V and piloted by Ali al-Saachez.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

A heavily armed variant of the GNW-20000 Arche Gundam, the Jagd Arche Gundam was designed for fighting a large enemy force by itself.[1][2][3][4] Some of the Jagd Arche's equipment were derived from those used by the GNW-001 ~ 003 Gundam Throne, and they have proven to be effective in actual combat.[1][2][3][4] Furthermore, they also enabled the Jagd Arche to take on the separate roles of the three Gundam Thrones all by itself.[4][5][6] The Jagd Arche's basic strategy is to first isolate and disrupt the enemy force using its GN Stealth Field, then launched pre-emptive, long-range bombardment with the GN Launcher, and finally destroy each of the confused, scattered enemy units in close combat using a pair of GN Buster Swords.[1][2][3][4]

The GN Launcher and GN Buster Swords are mounted on the Jagd Arche's backpack, and they used the same type of mounts as those of the Gundam Thrones'.[2][3][4][7] As for the GN Stealth Field, its generators are built into the new side-mounted GN Containers, which also stored 12 GN Fangs that could be replaced by GN Missiles.[2][3][4][7] The Jagd Arche also has additional front and rear waist armor, and besides enhancing the mobile suit's defensive power, these armor have integrated large GN Condensers to cope with the increased GN Particles consumption caused by the added equipment.[2][3][4][7] The main weakness of the heavily armed Jagd Arche is the reduction in mobility due to its increased weight, thus it was only used for fighting large enemy force, and not against a small elite unit, such as the Celestial Being's Gundams.[2][3][4][7]

Armaments[]

  • GN Launcher
A huge, long-range beam cannon with a foldable barrel, Jagd Arch Gundam's GN Launcher is an improved model of the one used by the GNW-001 Gundam Throne Eins and is mounted on the right side of the backpack.[2][3][4][8] The Jagd Arche used the GN Launcher for pre-emptive, long-range bombardment after it had isolated and disrupted the enemy force with its GN Stealth Field.[1][2][3][4] While the Throne Eins must work with the GNW-002 Gundam Throne Zwei and the GNW-003 Gundam Throne Drei to fire the GN Launcher's most powerful firing mode, the GN High-Mega Launcher, it is possible for the Jagd Arche to utilize this mode all by itself through the Trans-Am System.[2][3][4][8] However, it is unclear if the Jagd Arch was installed with this system, as the original GNW-20000 Arche Gundam never demonstrated the use of Trans-Am and no sources have definitely stated that the Arche had such a system.
  • GN Buster Sword
The same huge handheld sword as used by the original Arche, the Jagd Arche Gundam is equipped with two such weapons and they are mounted on the left side of the mobile suit's backpack when not in use.[2][3][4][7] These GN Buster Swords are enhanced version of the one used by the Throne Zwei and can function as beam firearms by transforming into 'Rifle Mode'.[3][9][10][11] Following the long-range bombardment with its GN Launcher, the Jagd Arche would fly into the enemy force and destroy them one by one in close combat using the pair of GN Buster Swords.[1][2][3][4]
  • GN Beam Saber
A close combat weapon that emits a beam blade.[3][9][12] The Jagd Arche retained the pair of GN Beam Sabers built into the white-colored tip of the Arche's feet, one per foot, enabling it to slash or pierce the enemy with a kick.[2][3][5][9]
  • GN Fang
The Jagd Arche can deploy multiple small, wireless, remote weaponry known as GN Fangs to attack its enemies.[2][7] The Jagd Arche's GN Fangs are the same as those used by the Arche, and they are improved model of the ones used by the Throne Zwei. However, the Jagd Arche is equipped with 12 GN Fangs, two more than the Arche.[2][3][4][5] Each GN Fang has an emitter at the bottom for firing beam shots or to generate a beam blade.[2][7][9][11] When not in use, the GN Fangs are stored in the pair of GN Containers mounted at the sides of the Jagd Arche.[2][3][4][5] These GN Fangs can be replaced by GN Missiles when necessary.[2][3][4][7]
  • GN Missile
Instead of the GN Fangs, the GN Containers can be loaded with 12 GN Missiles for anti-ship/anti-ground attacks.[2][3][4][5]

Special Equipment & Features[]

Like the one used by the GNW-003 Gundam Throne Drei, the Jagd Arche's GN Stealth Field is able to disrupt enemies' search and communication systems in a wide area.[2][4][7][13] As part of its combat strategy, the Jagd Arche would first deploy the GN Stealth Field to isolate the enemy force and break down the coordination among the enemy units, causing them to be more vulnerable to its attacks.[1][2][3][7] The generators for Jagd Arche's GN Stealth Field are built into the pair of side-mounted GN Containers.[2][3][4][7] The outermost left and right sides of each GN Container have concealed vents that are exposed when their covers flip up,[2][4][7] and these vents seemed to be for dispersing the massive amount of GN Particles necessary for the deployment of the GN Stealth Field.
  • Core Fighter
In an emergency, the original GNW-20000 Arche Gundam's chest-mounted cockpit block, head, and backpack can jointly separate from the mobile suit's body and then transform into an escape unit known as “Core Fighter”.[3][9][11] The Jagd Arche retained this feature, and the Core Fighter is now equipped with the Jagd Arche's backpack unit that mounts the GN Launcher and the pair of GN Buster Swords.[2][3][4][7]

History[]

Mobile Suit Gundam 00V Vol.017 GNW-20000/J Jagd Arche Gundam[]

Deborah Galiena and her customized GNX-604T Advanced GN-X participated in a Earth Sphere Federation Forces' assault against a local branch of the anti-government organization Katharon. However, with the Katharon's mobile suits hiding in the city's residential area, the Federation Forces' mobile suits had difficulties launching effective attacks. Suddenly, the Jagd Arche Gundam appeared on the battlefield. With a single glance, Deborah knew this mobile suit is a Gundam Throne series machine.

The Jagd Arche fired its GN Launcher, lighting the city ablaze and flushing out all the Katharon's mobile suits. The Jagd Arche then deployed its GN Fangs, but these remote weapons not only attacked the Katharon's mobile suits, they also went after the Federation Forces' mobile suits as well. The battlefield immediately fell into chaos, and the Jagd Arche began to destroy the confused mobile suits with its two GN Buster Swords, one in each hand. As Deborah watched the unbridled Jagd Arche cleaved apart mobile suit after mobile suit, she could not help but feel that its pilot was laughing wildly in the cockpit.

To stay alive in this chaotic battle, Deborah and her Advanced GN-X fought with all they got. Deborah was so engrossed in the fighting that she failed to notice the alarm indicating that her Advanced GN-X's GN Drive Tau was near its operating limit had sounded. Her mobile suit soon ran out of energy and fell out of the sky. Deborah thought death had come for her, but she survived the battle as the Jagd Arche simply left once the battlefield was devoid of any functioning mobile suits. This caused Deborah to lament that her survival was due to luck and not her abilities.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • "Jagd" means "hunting" in German.
  • The arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. 2 depicts the Jagd Arche Gundam as having a Trans-Am system when Burst is activated.
    • In the mobile game Gundam Breaker Mobile, the EX Skill "Trinity Hunting" depicts the Jagd Arche Gundam activating Trans-Am, followed by using the GN Launcher and then attacking with the GN Buster Swords. The Trans-Am effect persists for a set amount of time as a buff effect. The "Trinity Hunting" EX Skill is granted by equipping the Jagd Arche Gundam's backpack.
