JOSH-A is a military base on Earth in the series Gundam SEED.
History
JOint Supreme Headquarters Alaska, JOSH-A (pronounced Joshua) was the central command center of the Earth Alliance after the fall of Victoria. The base was constructed by the two main powers of the Earth Alliance, the Atlantic Federation and the Eurasian Federation and, as its name implies, located in Alaska.
On May 5, CE 71, ZAFT launched Operation Spit Break a full-scale assault on JOSH-A. The attack was however a trap by the Atlantic Federation itself, who had secretly installed a Cyclops System under the base. The base was then evacuated safe for the personal of the Eurasian Federation (the Atlantic Federation's greates rival). ZAFT forces were eventually lured into the base in large numbers, until finally the Atlantic Federation ignited the self-destruction Cyclops System, which allowed them to 'kill two birds with one stone'. The attacking ZAFT force was mostly wiped out and the base itself was totally annihilated. This event tilted the inner Earth Alliance's balance of powers mostly towards the Blue Cosmos-controlled Atlantic Federation.
