Katz, Retz, and Kikka Kobiyashi

Katz Howan, Retz Kofan, and Kikka Kitamoto were a group of children who were orphaned in the Zeon attack on Side 7, and rescued amongst the civilian refugees aboard the White Base. While aboard the ship, they became a combination of mascots and troublemakers for the ship, and were involved in several incidents, including Ramba Ral's last ditch attack on the ship, as well as Char's infiltration of Jaburo, when they helped to dispose of the bombs. The latter incident lead to their being allowed to stay on the ship, even when she left Earth to return to space for the final offensives at Solomon and A-boa-ku. After the battle of A-boa-ku, the three kids showed their Newtype abilities, when they reached out to allow Amuro to find the lifeboat on which the White Base crew had escaped the ship. Following the war, they were adopted by Hayato and Fraw Kobiashi.

The kids would appear once again during the Gryps War, helping Amuro Ray to escape house arrest in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Retz and Kikka would accompany Fraw to Japan, while Katz went with Amuro to join his father in Karuba. Katz would then travel into space with Char Aznable, where he would become pilot of the G-Defenser. In this role, he would take part in the latter part of the war, where he would be killed in combat at the Gryps Colony Laser, one of the numerous casualties of the final battle between the AEUG, Titans, and Axis.
