Combat Abilities
The armament of the Ootsukigata is largly the same as the one used on the standard MVF-M11C Murasame, although it isn't equipped with the missile launchers. Instead its armament includes a high-energy long-range beam cannon. This allows it to serve in an artillery support role, while still retaining the close and mid-range capabilities of the Murasame.
System Features
The Ootsukigata is classified as a transformable mobile armor, with the Mobile Suit mode being secondary. The suit features two additional equipments compared to the standard unit, both which were added for easier use of the the long-range beam cannon. The first special feature is a dedicated targeting sensor, allowing the pilot to better aim over great distances when using the long-range weapon. The second is a cooling system which is mounted in place of the underside missile launchers and used to cool down the powerful long-range weapon more quicker after it was used.
History
A variation of the standard Murasame produced by Orb, the Ootsukigata was designed for long-range support in battles. Both its frame and armament are nearly the same as the one used on the normal unit, which makes it easier to convert a Murasame into an Ootsukigata. The exact number of Ootsukigata units being produced is unknown, although at least three are known to be built.
These three units were present in the final battle against Messiah , where one of them engaged a ZGMF-X3000Q Providence ZAKU.
