Marseille III-class

The Marseille III-class is a transport ship in the Cosmic Era timeline.

Combat and Technological Information

Since it is only a transport ship, the Marseille III-class isn't equipped with any weaponry, although it can carry mobile suits and mobile armors. One modified vessel, the HOME was equipped with eight manipulator arms for salvage operations. In an emergency, these arms could be used to hurl the contents of the ship's cargo bay at attackers.

History

Built by the Earth Alliance, the Marseille III-class was designed as a transport vessel to ship cargo and personal in space. In January, CE 71, one ship of this class was used by the Atlantic Federation to bring two TS-MA2 Moebius, the "Hawk of Endymion" Mu La Flaga along with his Moebius Zero mobile armor as well as the test pilots for the five Gundams created as part of the G Project to the neutral colony Heliopolis, where the suits were stored. The ship was eventually destroyed when the colony was attacked by ZAFT forces. Because of this, it is possible that the ships are of a class of now-obsolescent mobile armor carriers.

Another Marseille III-class fell into the hands of a Junk Guild group led by a mysterious woman known only as "The Professor." The remaining crew are Junk Guild technicians Lowe Guele, Liam Garfield, and Kisato Yamabuki. This ship, called HOME, was modified by the group for use in their salvage operations. After a salvage operation at the destroyed colony Heliopolis, the HOME acquired the MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame, and became a target for many people who desired the advanced mobile suit. Eventually, the ship was damaged beyond repair after a battle with the MBF-P01 Astray Gold Frame forced it into Earth's atmosphere. The crew of the HOME utilized the salvaged land battleship Lesseps until acquiring the ReHOME to replace their lost spaceship.
