Technology & Combat Characteristics
Developed by Romefeller for the purpose of hunting down the five rebel Gundams, The Hydra was designed as a high-speed attacker. The Hydra Gundam is equipped with an Electro-Magnetic Field shield. By emitting a tense force field, the EMF shield can block many attacks and cover wide areas of the Gundam's body despite its small size. Its main armaments include a buster gun, beam saber and two foldable shoulder claws. Its shoulders' claws mounts a set of beam cannons which can operate either on mounting arms, or detached and act as wire-guided all-range attack units. It can also transform into a high speed mode by retracting its legs into its skirt armor, revealing additional thrusters.

History
While serving under Zechs Merquise in OZ Specials, Valder racks up more individual kills against the United Earth Sphere Alliance than his entire unit combined. This bloody record earns him the nickname "Dark General of Destruction." When Valder assumes leadership of OZ Prize in late AC 195 he proves to be a formidable nemesis for the defenders of the remote colony MO-V. At the conclusion of the Eve Wars on December 24, AC 195, Valder is killed by OZ-19MASX Gundam Griepe pilot Odin Bernett.

Notes & Trivia
- The Hydra's high speed mode is a tribute to the MSN-02 Zeong, the "final boss" mobile suit from the original Gundam series. Further carrying the reference is the fact that the back of the Hydra's head greatly resembles the Zeong's, and may even mount a monoeye camera, as depicted in SD Gundam G Generation F.
- Although piloted by Treize Khushrenada in Gundam Battle Assault, it is transferred to Valder in Battle Assault 2.
