The ovw-cc Gomel is a ground combat Vagan mobile suit from the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. It is piloted by Vagan's Phantom 3 Team.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
Considered as Vagan's first Underground Mobile Suit, the Gomel is specially developed for use on sandy terrain. The main purpose of the Gomel is to attack enemy units while being hidden in the sand and its design in general is partly inspired from a shark hunting its prey. It is able to transform into its alternate mode to dive into the sand and move freely without problems. The Gomel is armed with two clawed hands, which can take down enemy mobile suits and launch missiles to counterattacks, and a beam cannon in the chest.
Armaments
- Gomel Cannon
- Mounted on the chest. It generates a very wide beam ideal for eliminating difficult enemies that stand before the Gomel. Can also make torso-mounted beam blade.
- Shiguru Claws
- The Gomel lacks the hand-mounted beam vulcans/sabers, featured on many other Vagan mobile suits. To make up for this, the Gomel is armed with claw like fingers, which are deadly weapons in close quarters combat. These claws can be used to strike at or even cut through mobile suits.
- Missile Launcher
- The Gomel's missile launchers are located on the unit's forearms. These missile launches can serve as a mid-ranged weapons.
History
Only three Gomels were built by the Vagan during the final phase of Operation Eden. These specialized machines were assigned to the X-Rounder Corps Phantom 3 to take down the Diva-class cruiser on their way to the Federation Base of Rostroulan. One of them was destroyed by Kio Asuno and his AGE-3F Gundam AGE-3 Fortress.
Variants
- Gomel N
- Beraji Gomel

Notes & Trivia
- Both the Gomel and the Wrozzo are inspired from the Principality of Zeon and Neo Zeon's amphibious mobile suits. More importantly, both were inspired from the MSM-03C Hygogg from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.
