The RX-121-2P Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] is a Mobile Suit that appears in Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The RX-121-2P Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] is a version of the RX-121-2A Gundam TR-1 [Advanced Hazel] equipped with the Primrose emergency escape pod. The Primrose was developed in order to increase the survival and recovery rates of the pilot and the mobile suit data without reducing the Hazel's performance, but because the Primrose replaces almost the entire chest and torso, this version is called the Hazel Owsla to distinguish it from the standard Hazel. Since the Primrose was designed for high extensibility, the Hazel Owsla can support even more optional weapons and extra equipment functions, and can use various options to adapt to different combat situations.

Like the Primrose, the Hazel Owsla can also be equipped with a wide variety of backpacks and optional weapons, including a sub arm unit, the optical sensor unit and leg enhancement parts of the RX-121-2A Gundam TR-1 [Advanced Hazel], the tri booster unit of the RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel II], or the multi connector pod and shield boosters of the Advanced Hazel. Most configurations of the Hazel Owsla carry a long blade rifle, and this machine can also use the Primrose's mega particle cannons and missile pods as built-in weapons. Most Hazel Owsla configurations use the same compact shoulder armor as the RX-121-1 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom] Sniper Unit.

Armaments[]

  • Beam Saber

The standard armament for melee combat for Earth Federation mobile suits is the beam saber. The beam saber is a small cylindrical device held in the mobile suit's hands when operated and is powered by an energy capacitor that is recharged from special racks. The beam saber emits a blade of plasma contained by an I-field and is capable of cutting through any metal alloy.

  • Vulcan Gun

A standard armament of the Earth Federation Forces's Mobile Suits is a pair of head mounted 60mm vulcan guns. These shell firing weapons have a high-rate of fire but have little power. Because of their low caliber the weapons won't damage a mobile suit's armor by much, though it is still commonly employed as a tactic to keep an enemy mobile suit from getting too close. The weapons are ideal for shooting down small, fast moving, lightly armored targets such as missiles, small land vehicles, and attack helicopters.

  • Long Blade Rifle

The Gundam TR-1 standard beam rifle fitted with a stock and barrel extension, the barrel features a blade to its underside that can be heated to serve as a close combat weapon.

  • Shield

A basic optional arm-mounted defense armament for many Federation mobile suits. The shield is a thick sheet of armor designed to take severe punishment that would normally destroy a mobile suit. Since the introduction of beam weaponry, shields have been treated with an anti-beam coating allowing it to withstand several beam shots before the coating wears off. Typically physical shields can only take so much damage before they succumb to the pressure and break.

  • Winch Cannon

A large beam weapon mounted within the Primrose emergency escape pod, and used by both the Owsla and the Primrose when it is separated. When in use by the Owsla, it is fired from the right side binder.

  • Missile Pod Binder

A specialized piece of equipment designed for the RX-121-2P Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] which allows it to mount a 12-count micro missile pod and an anti-beam chaff dispenser on top of a standard binder, giving it extra offensive power without sacrificing speed. The micro missiles are smaller and carry less payload than traditional MS missiles, but they are harder to shoot down. The anti-beam chaff also functions as a smokescreen due to its high density and volume.

  • 12-shot Micro Missile Launcher
  • Chaff Dispenser

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Sub Arm Unit
  • Enhanced Shield Booster

An upgraded version of the shield booster featuring 10 mega particle cannon at the price of reduced fuel capacity.

  • Shield Booster
  • Multi-purpose Launchers

Trivia[]

  • The Hazel Owsla can be built as a 1/144 model, requiring the Advanced Hazel, the TR-1 Hazel II, the Hazel Custom, the Primrose, the RX-124 Gundam TR-6 [Hazel II] and the FF-X29A G-Parts [Hrududu] model kits, the latter three being P-Bandai Exclusive expansion sets. As the Hrududu is only needed for the Long Blade Rifle parts, the [ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo] model can be used to substitute those parts; however, its Long Blade Rifle parts lack the special connector parts the Hrududu version has.
  • The name is based on the main character Hazel from the book Watership Down. The word "owsla" is a word in the rabbit language, Lapine, meaning "a group of strong or clever rabbits, second year or older, surrounding the chief rabbit and his doe and exercising authority," while "Hrududu" is the Lapine word for "a tractor, car, or any other motorized vehicle."
