Synopsis[]

After the fight against Arbeo Pippiniden's forces, Uso Ewin is piloting the LM312V04 Victory Gundam into a walk back to Point Kassarelia while carrying his friends Suzy Relane, Odelo Henrik and Warren Trace. Uso prefers to walk instead of flying because he left the League Militaire's camion crew without asking for permission and hopes to avoid drawing attention to their absence.

Cronicle Asher left Largaine and is now piloting his ZM-S08G Zolo alongside other Yellow Jackets with Katejina on the passenger seat. While flying over Point Kassarelia he remembers the recent time when he lost his Shokew to Uso.[1] His commander Fuala Griffon then calls him by radio reminding that he should meet with her ZM-A05G Recarl and the other Zolos so that they can fly to Arti Gibraltar together. Cronicle orders the Zolos who are with him in patrol to join Fuala. He is then told by a couple of Zolos in patrol over Kassarelia that there is smoke leaving a house in Kassarelia and decides to investigate alone.

The smoke comes from the house where Shahkti Kareen, Karlmann Dukartuse, Haro and Flanders are. Cronicle and Katejina land and approach on foot. Katejina attempts to reassure Shakti by pointing out that it was Cronicle who warned Shakti to leave for safety recently when the League Militaire's factory was attacked. Cronicle remarks that this is his third meeting with Shakti, then proceeds to put Flanders at ease after an initial hostile reaction.

Meanwhile, Uso is also near Point Kassarelia and has decided to take a brief leave of absence from his friends to check on the place with the Gundam Victory. Leaving the Gundam to watch from the binocules, he sees Cronicle's landed Zolo from a distance and is trying to decide what to do next when the two Zolos who warned Cronicle fly low nearby and notice the stationary Gundam Victory's presence.

Hoping to capture the Gundam Victory, the Zolos land to approach on foot and fire what appear to be warning shots (it is not clear that they noticed Uso's presence nearby). Uso loses his balance and fails to enter the cockpit before the Zolos are there pointing their Beam Rifles at him.

Inside the cabin, Flanders perceives and is upset by the events outside, drawing the attention of Cronicle, Katejina and Shakti. Cronicle goes outside and sees the Gundam Victory being carried to his location by the two Zolos. Uso is there, being carried just over the Gundam's knee, and sees and is noticed in turn by Cronicle, Katejina, Shakti and Flanders just before falling from a moderate height over a pile of hay. A concerned Shakti runs towards him and the two talk briefly. Cronicle and Katejina join them; Uso is upset because Katejina appears to now be supportive of the BESPA Yellow Jackets, which Katejina confirms. Cronicle asks about Uso, who he hasn't fully recognized. Katejina admits that Uso is one of Kassarelia's illegal immigrants but falls short of telling that he is also the Gundam Victory's pilot.

Their group is joined by the pilots of the two Zolos, who assume that the Gundam Victory's pilot is not Uso but someone else who managed to flee while they approached and tell as much to Cronicle. Cronicle remembers meeting Uso previously and begins the make the connection.[2]

Meanwhile, Odelo, Warren and Suzy are nearby and watch the events by binocule. Odelo notices the Gundam Victory and the three Zolos and wants to rescue Uso. Cronicle takes the opportunity to pilot the Gundam Victory and get acquaintanced with its controls and weapons. He is impressed by how light the controls are and realizes that a child might conceivably pilot one, further cementing the realization that Uso is its pilot.

Fuala Griffon, now aware that Gundam Victory has been captured, comemorates inside the Recarl with its pilot, Metchet Rubence. She is relieved because she has been receiving negative fallout from recent actions (such as the death of Count Oy Nyung by guillotine)[3] and this piece of good news may compensate for that, sparing her from the danger of being guillotined herself.

The two patrol Zolo pilots wait in good spirits inside the cabin for Fuala's arrival while guarding Shakti, Katejina and Uso (and Karlmann). Odelo and Warren draw them out by having Suzy appear to be stealing sheep and surprise attack both, to little avail. Uso attempts to help them and is threatened by a pistol's barrel for his trouble. Odelo is stymied, until the flock of sheep returns and distracts him. Odelo manages to reverse the situation and wants the group to tie up the two pílots, but Cronicle is returning, still piloting Gundam Victory and emboldening the Zolo pilot.

However, Cronicle is then approached by Oliver Inoe piloting his own Gundam Victory in flight mode. He inadvertently reveals to Cronicle Asher that Uso is the regular pilot of that unit that he is now piloting. Cronicle attacks Oliver, who is promptly joined and helped by Uso, now piloting one of the Zolos. There is a brief moment of confusion, but soon both Cronicle and Oliver understand that Uso is in the Zolo's cockpit.

Cronicle manages to amputate both of the Zolo's legs with the Gundam Victory's beam saber. Oliver by his turn destroys the left knee of the Gundam Victory that Cronicle is piloting, making it possible for Uso to emergency land.

Odelo, Warren, Suzy and Shakti have indeed tied up the two Zolo pilots. Odelo is suspicious of Katejina and keeps her at gunpoint, but allows her to go to the bathroom. Odelo thinks that Katejina decided to bring Cronicle to Point Kassarelia, but Katejina points out that it was the other way around.

Fuala has arrived in her Recarl and interrupts the fight against Oliver and Cronicle Asher. Odelo notices the one-legged Gundam Victory approaching and decides that it is probably not being piloted by Uso. Cronicle lands, having given up on capturing Gundam Victory for the moment. Odelo attempts to shoot him, but is stopped by Katejina, who tries to convince him that she will spy on the Yellow Jackets. Cronicle is now piloting another Zolo and points his beam rifle towards Odelo. That fails to dissuade Odelo, because he realizes that Cronicle won't shoot when Katejina is so close nearby.

The standoff is interrupted by Uso's approach, still on the legless Zolo, which he has brough back to flight. Uso ends up throwing the remains of the bottom fighter of his mutilated Zolo towards Cronicle's own Zolo, damaging both the Zolo and the one-legged Gundam Victory that was standing right next to it. He them switches to fighter mode and lands the Zolo.

While Cronicle Asher and Uso leave their Zolo's cockpits, Fuala's recall is still approaching and firing at Oliver's Gundam Victory. Odelo, Warren, Suzy, Shakti, Flanders and Haro all decide to flee together and hide among the trees. Odelo allows Katejina to stay in the cabin and do as she pleases but warns her that trust will not come easily to her. Uso returns to the Gundam Victory's cockpit, worrying Katejina and impressing Cronicle.

Fuala's Recarl is getting the upper hand against Oliver's Gundam Victory, but the approach of Uso in the other, one-legged Gundam Victory distracts them. They carelessly assume that it is being piloted by Cronicle Asher and open themselves up for damage before realizing their mistake and destroying the other leg of the Victory. Uso discards his Bottom Fighter and Oliver offers him a new one.

The various groups take their leaves; the two patrol Yellow Jackets on the remaining intact Zolo, Katejina on Cronicle Asher's, Odelo's group on foot in the forest. Katejina leaves behind a note for Uso explaining her decision to spy on BESPA. Uso manages to attach the new Bottom Fighter and shoots repeatedly at the Recarl, making it flee. Cronicle interferes on the Zolo and Uso sees that Katejina is aboard with Cronicle. Uso is disheartened and allows the Zolos and the Recarl to leave.

Uso lands on Kassarelia, followed shortly by Oliver. Odelo's group joins them. Shakti alone notices Katejina's letter and decides to hide it. Uso tells Shakti that they have to move now that the Yellow Jackets know of the place. Shakti is distressed, because she fears that moving will impede her mother from ever finding her again. Uso tries to reassure her with a saying about a Yanagiran plant, to not much effect.
