The UT-1D Civilian Astray DSSD Custom is a mobile Suit in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: STARGAZER.

Technology and Combat characteristics

Intended as a non-combat suit, the Astray DSSD Custom only mounts a single shield on its left arm. When used in combat, the suit is equipped with a single KMS71/J beam pistol, the same model which can also be used by the GSX-401FW Stargazer.Being heavily customized by the DSSD for their needs, the Civilian Astray incorporates special technology to fulfill its purposes. One such change is the head, which mounts and upgraded sensor suit, which is protected by a visor designed to stop impacts with space debris. The most unusual change however are the suit's thrusters, which utilize an electromagnetic propulsion system. This system serves as a predecessor to the Stargazer's more advanced "Voiture Lumiere" propulsion system.

Armaments

• KMS71/J beam pistol

The same beam pistol used by the Stargazer, while low powered it does have a reasonable level of accuracy.

• Shield

A simple defensive armament mounted on the left arm meant to block attacks or objects the pilot cannot dodge. After enough damage it will break as it does not have any form of Phase Shift Armor.

History

While the DSSD also uses the Junk Guild's MWF-JG71 Raysta, it has created its own mass production mobile suit, the Civilian Astray DSSD Custom. Based on the Orb Union's MBF-M1 M1 Astray mobile suits, this suit is used by the DSSD for working tasks and, if necessary, for defense, although they are poorly outfitted for battles.

Nevertheless, in CE 74, when a squad of Phantom Pain units attack the DSSD Space Station to steal the Stargazer, a large number of Civilian Astray DSSD Custom units are fielded to defend the station. They however fair poorly against the Phantom Pain's more powerful and advanced mobile suits, with many Astray units being destroyed. They nevertheless are able to destroy the GAT-X103AP Verde Buster after its pilot depleted all energy of its suit.
