The XXXG-01SRL2 Gundam Sandleon Custom is the upgraded form of the XXXG-01SRL Gundam Sandleon unit piloted by OZ loyalist Dobert. It appears solely in the semi-official one-issue comic New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Sidestory: Tiel's Impulse.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The original XXXG-01SRL Gundam Sandleon was upgraded with parts from the destroyed OZ-10VMSX Gundam Aesculapius, one of the G-Unit's that participated in the conflict at Colony MO-V into its current form of the XXXG-01SRL2 Gundam Sandleon Custom. These additions included Aesculapius' leg-mounted propellant tanks and its large shoulder armor, capable of transforming into close combat claws mounted with beam vulcans, giving it even greater speed and close combat ability. Its main weapons are the Hi-Cold Shotels mounted on the forearms. Its secondary weapons are a set of standard vulcan guns and a pair of homing missiles.

Armaments[]

  • Vulcan Gun
Weak shell firing weapons mounted within the head, primarily used to shoot down incoming missiles.
  • Homing Missile
Mounted within the clavical section of the Sandleon, they are fired towards an enemy with a lock-on.
  • Hi-Cold Shotel
The primary weapons of the Sandleon, they are curved blades that could reach Absolute Zero (- 273.15 Centigrade), instantly freezing and shattering practically anything they touched. When not in use, they are mounted on the forearms of the Sandleon.
  • Python Claw
  • Rapid Shot

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Propellant Leg Tank

History[]

After being heavily damaged during the pursuit of three Gundams stolen from the Romefeller Foundation's Colony X-18722 manufacturing plant, this particular XXXG-01SRL Gundam Sandleon unit was forced to return to base. In order to continue the chase and recover the stolen machines, the Sandleon was repaired with technology from previously scrapped mobile suit Gundam Aesculapius. After the repair was complete, the newly re-christened XXXG-01SRL2 Gundam Sandleon Custom was sent back into battle for another attempt on the trio's lives to retrieve the three Gundams.

Although this units overall performance was increased substantially, it is destroyed in combat with former OZ soldier Trinoi Levinsky's stolen Gundam Derringer Arms at a shoal zone of wrecked mobile suits called the Graveyard of Soldiers.
