The YMS-15SS Gyan Vulcan is a custom gunpla and the successor of the Gyan Gya Gyan from the anime series Gundam Build Fighters. It was built and piloted by Susumu Sazaki.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A new gunpla used by Susumu Sazaki, the Gyan Vulcan sports a new ornate head and shoulder armor never featured on the original Gyan and its coloring is the same as those of the original Gyan. The suit also has a new backpack that can detach and function as a support unit. Weapons wise, the Gyan vulcan retains the armaments of its predecessor and adds another beam sword as well as two back-mounted Gatling guns.

Armaments

  • Beam Sword
The primary melee weapons of the Gyan Vulcan is a pair of high output beam sabers that are modeled after a medieval knight's sword, they are stored in the shoulders when not in use.
  • 3-barrel Gatling Gun
A pair of Gatling guns are mounted on the new backpack, they fire solid bullets and provide the Gyan Vulcan with a wider variety of weapons.
  • Missile Shield
The Gyan Vulcan is equipped with two large circular shields that are capable of defending it from mobile suit beam weapons. The shields also double as support weapons with each capable of firing small missiles or deploying space mines.
  • Needle Missile
The shields of the Gyan Vulcan mount 60 small missile launchers each. Though individually not very powerful, these missiles are deadly when fired in massed volleys. These were not intended for long range combat, instead they serve more as a mid to close range weapon.
  • Hide Bomb/Space Mine
A space version of the aged old Naval mine. It freely floats around in space, damaging any mobile suits that come near them.

Special Equipment

  • Detachable Backpack

History

The Gyan Vulcan was shown to be piloted by Susumu Sazaki in his fight with Monta Gonda and his Turn X, in which he easily defeated Gonda and the Turn X. After the fight with the Turn X, he fought another challenger, which was Ricardo Fellini and his new Gundam Fenice Rinascita. The newly entered Gundam charged into the battlefield and quickly defeated the Gyan Vulcan.

Notes & Trivia

  • The Gyan Vulcan does not have its own model kit, but can be assembled by using a normal Gyan model kit and the Valuable Pod model kit. However, it is unknown if Susumu Sazaki's Gyan Vulcan is created this way.
