Yzak Jule (イザーク・ジュール Izāku Jūru, also spelled as "Yzak Joule"?) is a character introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. He reappeared in the sequel series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.

Personality & Character[]

Out of the five young pilots assigned to ZAFT's Le Creuset Team , Yzak is the most loyal to the cause. He is portrayed as being competitive, hotheaded, and extremely impulsive. Yzak is highly competitive with Athrun Zala in terms of skill and leadership though this rivalry was mostly one-sided. Like Dearka, he also held a firm superiority complex over Naturals, deeming them inferior in all aspects when compared to Coordinators. In spite of these conflicts with Athrun, he still cares deeply for his fellow teammates, showing deep anger and sorrow over Nicol's death, being the one most affected by it, and attempting to defy orders in favor of searching for Athrun and Dearka when they went missing.

Although Yzak is known for being over-zealous and impulsive, he prefers to fight fairly; during the Battle of Panama he expresses his great distaste for "shooting at targets that can't shoot back," which causes him to doubt the ZAFT command structure after truly seeing the horrors of war. Yzak kept his scar to constantly remind him of the pain that the Strike has caused. On more than one occasion Yzak's temper has gotten the best of him, such as when he shot down a civilian shuttle believing it to be transporting escaping soldiers.

Once he forms the elite Joule Team under his aegis, he becomes more level-headed and much more of a leader. However, a meeting with Dearka (who had defected from ZAFT during the Battle of Orb) made Yzak see how twisted the ZAFT leadership was becoming, especially after witnessing the destructive power of the GENESIS.

Bu the start of the Second Alliance-PLANT War, Yzak heals his scar and retains his level headed attitude, becoming more of a mentor to inexperienced pilots and presumably signaling an end to his grudge against Kira. However, he is still hot-headed and is prone to small bursts of anger, as seen in his unexpected reunion with Athrun during the Junius Seven drop, though he isn't as impulsive as he was before. He has also matured significantly in the transition, mostly thanks to his war trial, where he was saved by Chairman Durandal's rousing speech for sparing the youth in order to rebuild the future. He sees his return to the military as a show of honor to his friends that were lost in the previous war.

Skills & Abilities[]

Yzak is a top notch pilot in close combat, as he frequently engages the Strike with merely the Duel's beam sabers. Although the Duel's subsequent upgrade with the Assault Shroud armor hindered his fighting style to more of a support role, at the end of the war he once again returns to using close combat. In Destiny, he retains his fighting style, choosing mobile suits with heavy firepower but incredible close combat capabilities, such as the ZGMF-1001/K Slash ZAKU Phantom and the close combat oriented ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited.

Physical Aspects & Clothing[]

History[]

First Alliance-PLANT War[]

Yzak Jule is a second-generation Coordinator who graduated as second best of his class from the ZAFT military academy, granting him the right to wear the red uniform of an elite ZAFT pilot. Upon his graduation, Yzak was assigned to the prestigious ZAFT Le Creuset special operations team aboard the Nazca-class ship, Vesalius. His mother, Ezalia Jule, is a member of the PLANT Supreme Council, as were the parents of the other elite pilots in the Le Creuset team (except for Rusty Mackenzie, the ill-fated would-be pilot of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam or the GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam). He and the Le Creuset team was assigned to infiltrate the Orb space colony Heliopolis to capture the Earth Alliance's new prototype mobile suits. Yzak managed to escape Heliopolis with the GAT-X102 Duel Gundam, and he became the Duel's permanent pilot after the destruction of the colony. Yzak, with the rest of the Le Creuset team, continued to harass the Archangel and Kira Yamato, pilot of the Strike.

Vendetta against Kira[]

During their first battle against the Archangel, Yzak and the rest of the Le Creuset team attempted a frontal attack with their superior numbers, with Yzak holding the Strike at bay while the others attacked the ship. Unfortunately, the ship's defense is too strong for both the Buster and Blitz to break on their own, while Athrun defies orders to destroy the Strike, instead, capturing and carrying it back to base. Midway through their trip, however, it is revealed that the Vesalius had been struck from behind by the Mu La Flaga's Moebius Zero and was now signalling for its units to retreat. Additionally, the Strike would escape from Athrun's grasp and rejoin the Archangel with its Launcher Pack, leaving Yzak and the others unable to continue pursuit.

Humiliated by his first failure in the battlefield and angered by Athrun's disobedience, Yzak engages the Strike once again while leaving his comrades to fight the Archangel in their next skirmish. By this time, however, Kira's skills had improved significantly, and he is able to damage Duel's cockpit in their dogfight before reinforcing the Archangel. In spite of the damage, Yzak gives chase and Duel's cockpit is struck once again by the Strike's Combat Knife. The damage from this attack gives Yzak a scar across his face, which he chooses to keep as a reminder of who gave it to him.

During the Battle of Orbit, however, when he mercilessly (and mistakenly) shot down a civilian shuttle while under the impression that there were retreating soldiers on board. This act had a traumatic effect on Kira because one of the passengers on board this shuttle was a little girl named Elle who gave him an origami flower as a token of her appreciation for his protection earlier.

At the end of the Battle of Orbit, Yzak enters Earth's atmosphere in the Duel and lands safely in Gibraltar. He is then assigned to North Africa, to join up with Andrew Waltfeld, the Desert Tiger. During a battle with the Archangel and Desert Dawn, Waltfeld insisted Yzak and Dearka stay on top of the Lesseps, but he disobeys orders and leaves the Lesseps and tries to enter the battle. The reason for Waltfeld's orders becomes apparent when their units sink into the sand because they had failed to adjust to the soft terrain. Following this, Yzak and Dearka return to Athrun, now appointed as their leader of their team while Rau was off with the higher-ups.

Their hunt for the Archangel takes them to Orb territory, where the ship attempts to use the country's neutral status to ward off the ZAFT pursuit forces. Because of this unexpected intervention and after a long duration of waiting, the team is able to ambush the Archangel as soon as it exits Orb's boundaries. The battle goes awry, however, as Nicol Amalfi is killed later on by Kira, Yzak shows his anger by cursing and beating Nicol's locker, asking why he had to die and immediately pointing to Athrun for his failure. In response, Dearka breaks the two from fighting shouting that they should focus on dealing with the Strike as revenge. Yzak also reminds the two that Kira also killed Miguel Aiman and gave him (Yzak) his scar. He and Athrun both vow to kill Kira the next time they meet.

In their renewed attack, Yzak is quickly shot off his Guul and crashes in the water, where he suffers minor injuries. To his shock, both Dearka and Athrun go missing during his absence, with neither Buster nor Aegis responding back to him. In spite of his desire to return back and search for the pair, Yzak is ordered to rejoin Rau as they have finalized the plans for Operation: Spitbreak. To his relief, Athrun is found by Orb's coast guards and returns safely, where he replies to Yzak that he had avenged Nicol's death. Despite the tension between them in the past, Yzak shakes hands with Athrun as the latter is setting off to accept his promotion to the special forces. Although Yzak swears next time he'll be in charge, and he tells Athrun not to get killed until then.

Yzak later participated in the Battle of JOSH-A. where he initially helped breach the base's outer gates. When Rau learned that the Archangel was now fleeing through the main gate, Yzak was sent to intercept the ship once again in its attempt to escape. The ZAFT forces, however, were surprised by the entry of Kira and the ZGMF-X10A Freedom, who informed them that the base's underground Cyclops System had been triggered and would result in an explosion that would kill them all if they did not flee now. Believing this to be a bluff, Yzak immediately attacked the Freedom but his foe easily dodged his attack and soon moved to strike the Duel's cockpit. Despite the fact that Yzak had killed Elle in cold blood, Kira refrained from killing him in return; instead, Kira lowered his target to simply the Duel's legs and told Yzak once again to retreat from JOSH-A, in order to save him from the Cyclops System. Yzak is left wondering why his opponent would intentionally spare him.[1]

Yzak later participated in the Battle of Porta Panama, in which he fought the Earth Alliance's new GAT-01 Strike Dagger for the first time. However, once ZAFT triggered the Gungnir device rendering all the Strike Daggers paralyzed, Yzak did not participate any further because his opponents were defenseless. He also expressed his disgust at the glee exhibited by his ZAFT comrades while firing on the disabled mobile suits and executing surrendering Earth Alliance soldiers out of revenge for the Battle of JOSH-A. This probably was the start of his realization to the horror of the current ZAFT's fanaticism, even before he meets Dearka again, and showing that despite his arrogance and zeal, he is not without honor and valor.

Doubt[]

When the Earth Alliance later invaded Orb in hopes of obtaining their mass driver, Yzak accompanies Le Creuset to observe. During the course of this event, Le Creuset comments that Yzak looks distressed and asks him if he wants to participate in the battle. Yzak says no, but Le Creuset adds that the Orb Union refused all offers of assistance from ZAFT and therefore they cannot intervene to which Yzak insists that he is not interested. He asks about the situation with Flay Allster, a former crew member of the Archangel whom Le Creuset abducted back at JOSH-A. Unbeknownst to him, Flay used to be lovers with Kira. In fact, she played a key role in the battle where Kira gave Yzak his scar by manipulating the former to fight as hard as he did. Although nothing happens between the two of them, Flay sneaks glances at Yzak every once in a while during her time with ZAFT and thinks about him as well as Kira and Le Creuset later on when Muruta Azrael declares his goal of eliminating all Coordinators at the Second Battle of Jachin Due. Yzak seems perpetually annoyed or frustrated with Flay's presence, though it can be assumed that this is for several reasons.

Yzak is also perplexed after hearing about Lacus Clyne and Andrew Waltfeld defecting from the PLANTs because of the stern leadership of Patrick Zala to which Le Creuset asks, "What is it one should be fighting for?" - a question that Lacus had posed much earlier in his presence. Yzak is visibly moved by this question, yet he continues to faithfully serve ZAFT.

Yzak later found himself reunited with his old friend Dearka on the Mendel colony, where he initially accuses him of betraying the PLANTs. Dearka denied the accusation, saying he would never betray his own people; however, he also refused to fight in order to wipe out all the Naturals, a goal which Patrick Zala had openly confirmed earlier when confronted by his son Athrun, who had also defected from ZAFT. Dearka also told Yzak all about Kira, and explained that he was not really their enemy. Given the gravity of these revelations, Yzak had a hard time believing them and told Dearka that he was being deceived; in response, Dearka retorted, "...which one of us is really being deceived?"

Though confused regarding the recent events, Yzak's heroics would not go unnoticed and he would be promoted to lead his own team while Rau would once again leave on a special assignment made by Patrick Zala himself. While undergoing training routines, he assisted Shiho Hahnenfuss in solving her issues with creating her own insignia and the heating problems with her YFX-200 CGUE DEEP Arms' beam cannons. When she inquired about the Battle of Porta Panama, Yzak did not hold back his disgust over the massacre on the surrendering opponents and felt that such "comrades" were as barbaric as the Naturals themselves.

To ZAFT's surprise, the Atlantic Federation later unleashes multiple nuclear missiles to render to previously impregnable Boaz to nothing but scrap. With the next likely target being the PLANTs themselves, Yzak is sent to help lead their defense force in the Second Battle of Jachin Due. Despite their attempts to stop the nuclear warheads, Yzak's forces are outmatched by the Federation's Biological CPUs and are unable to hit any of the nuclear missiles. To his surprise, Dearka arrives and provides him with support, while members of the Three Ships Alliance are able to attack and destroy all the nuclear missiles targeting the PLANTs.

As thanks, Yzak warned the Three Ships Alliance of GENESIS, shouting for both Athrun and Kira to flee from the weapon's firing range immediately. After GENESIS fired for the first time and annihilated half of the Earth Alliance fleet, Yzak retreated to a nearby ZAFT base. There, he talked with his mother who assured him that GENESIS' second strike would surely end the war with their victory. When Yzak askd what GENESIS's next target would be, she was called back by the rest of the council before she could answer.[2]

In spite of half of its fleet being destroyed by GENESIS, the Alliance's forces once again send a wave of nuclear missiles towards the PLANT Colonies, which were intercepted by both the Freedom and Justice. Yzak once again provide help for the Three Ships Alliance when Shani Andras attempted to kill Cagalli Yula Athha in her MBF-02 Strike Rouge. Yzak protected her with his Duel's shield, heavily damaging it in the process; with Dearka's help in temporarily incapacitating Shani's machine, Yzak charged in, blocking a beam with his shield for one last time before the shield itself finally yielded to the blast and was destroyed, giving the illusion of the Duel being taken out, but in actuality removed the Assault Shroud armor from the Duel to have it destroyed as a decoy. Using the resulting explosion and smoke as a distraction, Yzak charged the Duel for an attack with beam blades in both hands to finally destroy the GAT-X252 Forbidden Gundam with Shani inside. Afterwards, Yzak destroyed the Agamemnon-class ship, Doolittle, killing Captain William Sutherland, in retribution for its attempt to launch nukes on the PLANTs.[3]

Later, when the GAT-X103 Buster Gundam was severely damaged by the ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam's DRAGOONs, Yzak rushed in to save Dearka, only for both pilots to be attacked by an insane Clotho Buer, the last of the three Biological CPUs and the pilot of the GAT-X370 Raider Gundam; Yzak took the Buster's cannon and used it to destroy the Raider, killing Clotho in the process. He then brought Dearka back to the Archangel and later headed back out in the Duel to protect the Archangel using the Strike's spare shield and beam rifle as a replacement for his lost weaponry.[4] Sometime after this battle he met Kira Yamato off-screen on friendly terms, thus his reason for removing his scar.

Near the end of the First Alliance-PLANT War, Yzak was promoted and given command of his own special forces unit; after the war, Yzak served in his mother's place as a temporary member of the PLANT Supreme Council.[5] Following this, he was promoted to white uniform status and reformed the Joule Team; joining him were his former comrade and friend Dearka Elsman as well as Shiho Hahnenfuss, a highly intelligent red uniform and former test pilot. Yzak regarded Shiho's opinions highly as a comrade-in-arms, but it was a strictly professional relationship from Yzak's point of view.

Second Alliance-PLANT War[]

Before the second war began, Yzak, Dearka, and other ZAFT "war criminals" from the previous war were put on trial. Yzak would have been executed for his actions during the Battle of Orbit (he himself said later on when Athrun Zala returned to PLANT); however, thanks to PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal's defending speech, he continued to serve as a commander.

He also had command over two Nazca-class battle cruisers Voltaire and Rousseau. With the Junius Seven colony drop, the Joule Team was assigned to demolish the falling colony to prevent it from crashing into earth. Not long after they reached the colony, the demolition teams led by Dearka were attacked by the terrorists that caused the drop as well as the stolen Gundam-type mobile suits developed by ZAFT from Armory One. Yzak quickly launched in his blue colored ZGMF-1001/K Slash ZAKU Phantom and was joined by the mobile suits of the Minerva, among them his old rival Athrun Zala, much to his surprise. During this battle, however, Yzak showed he was still an effective soldier, albeit more level-headed. Rather than kill Auel Neider and Sting Oakley as he surely would have done during the first war, Yzak simply held them off by damaging their mobile suits just as Kira Yamato did to him during Operation Spitbreak.

When the Earth Alliance declared war on PLANT and attacked Aprilus One, Yzak led the Joule Team in the defense of their homeland. However, they soon encounter an EA ambush team of nuclear missile-armed GAT-04 Windams and Yzak and Dearka rushed to intercept them. Luckily, the PLANTs were saved when a Nazca-class destroyer armed with a Neutron Stampeder destroyed the missiles and the EA forces. Later when Athrun paid a visit to the PLANTs shortly after the Second Alliance-PLANT War began, Yzak and Dearka were called from the frontlines to provide escort service. The three of them paid tribute to their fallen comrades from the first war - Nicol Amalfi, Rusty Mackenzie, and Miguel Aiman. Then Yzak asked Athrun to return to ZAFT and promised to help arrange things, believing that Athrun should not waste his talents on the battlefield or dishonor their fallen friends.

From then on, Yzak, Dearka and the Joule Team remained in space, in one battle fighting against EA forces in a ZAFT attack on the Moon.[6] After Durandal's speech about Logos, Yzak was visibly distraught by the revelation and snapped at two ZAFT soldiers that were taking the situation lightly, with Dearka trying to calm him down.

During Operation Ragnarok, Yzak was aboard the Gondwana and oversaw the mobile suit reinforcements descending to Heaven's Base. Following Operation Fury, the Joule Team watched Cagalli Yula Athha's broadcast as it was interruption by Meer Campbell and later by the real Lacus Clyne.

Later during the war, he switched out his ZAKU Phantom in favor of the new ZGMF-X2000 GOUF Ignited and uses it to lead a ZAFT force against the EA fleet guarding the Daedalus base. They spot one of Requiem relay stations and destroyed its thrusters to further investigate it, not knowing it's true purpose. The Requiem fired and its beam was bent when it traveled through the various relay stations. To his shock, the beam eventually found its target and destroyed several PLANT Colonies, although the Joule Team's intervention caused it to miss its intended target: Aprilius One. Horrified by the catastrophe, Yzak and the ZAFT forces launch a furious counterattack on the relay station, succeeding in destroying it. When the Minerva returned to space to assist them, Yzak was tasked with causing a distraction by attacking Requiem's remaining relay stations while the Minerva's forces sought their way to the superweapon's control center.

Eventually, ZAFT forces triumphed and the Requiem weapon was captured. To his surprise, Requiem was used to attack the Atlantic Federation's lunar base at Arzachel, killing its president, Joseph Copeland after his vocal protest to Chairman Durandal's Destiny Plan.

During the Three Ships Alliance attack on Requiem Station One, Yzak launched from the Voltaire into the battle. Yzak did not immediately side with the Clyne Faction; at first, he went after Athrun, once again feeling his leadership position threatened. However, Dearka intervened and convinced him to focus on the battle. As the Archangel and Eternal began fighting at the Messiah, Yzak ordered his forces to protect the Eternal under the logic that he would be protecting a ZAFT ship. Like in the Second Battle of Jachin Due, Yzak was given notice of Neo-GENESIS's second firing and immediately contacts the Eternal, warning them to escape from the weapon's range. His warning would allow most of the Three Ships Alliance's key targets to safely evade the attack, though, to his shock, several ZAFT ships were destroyed in friendly fire as a result of Neo-GENESIS.

Post Second War[]

When he accompanied new Chairwoman Lacus Clyne to meet with Kira Yamato, where he was seen smiling with Dearka, Shiho Hahnenfuss, Athrun, and Meyrin Hawke as Kira and Lacus hugged each other while the rest of the audience was surprised. He then escorted Lacus Clyne into the PLANT Supreme Council chamber.[7]

After the end of the war, ZAFT had begun introducing a traditional rank system, and Yzak was given the rank of Major.[8] He also transferred from the regular army to become an officer in the intelligence office at the PLANT General Staff Headquarters.

Alternative Media[]

In Gundam SEED Destiny: The Edge, both Yzak and Dearka's reactions to major events in the series' later half are further explored. The pair were surprised to learn of Athrun's supposed betrayal and death after the GOUF Ignited he hijacked was shot down. The pair are eventually informed of the return of the Archangel, and the appearance of ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam and ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam during the invasion of Orb, leading them to believe that Athrun had survived, though Yzak was still angry that Athrun did not inform them of his decision beforehand. When the Jule Team began demolishing one of Requiem's relay stations, one of the team's members was so focused on the relay station that he was blindsided by an enemy Zamza-Zah forcing Yzak to rescue him. Upon returning to the Gondwana, Yzak gives harsh advice of not dying in vain.

He and Dearka also held doubts about Chairman Durandal's Destiny Plan, seeing it as a political move now that Lord Djibril was dead. Upon learning that Requiem had been fired at the Alliance's lunar base, he immediately scolds one of the staff members for thinking that wiping out the enemy would lead to a proper end to the war. He then gave a speech of how anything can occur in a battle, and that there will come a time when they must make a decision for themselves as well as to never forget why they wear their uniforms.

Before setting off for the final battle, Dearka asks him if he is looking forward to seeing Kira and Athrun once again.

Gundam SEED Character Theatre[]

Yzak is the central character of the first two episodes of the Theatre. In this series, his jealousy and rivalry with Athrun are juxtaposed, and he loses in all competitions against Athrun, even in absurd fields such as ramen eating and shiny forehead competitions. Believing that Athrun has a special trump card, Yzak and Dearka spy on Athrun and Kira, and inadvertently discover SEED mode.

Determined to find a way to enter SEED mode himself, Yzak concludes that he must be put in grave danger, Yzak subjects himself to a wide variety of pain, before finally conceding. Remembering that Lacus and Cagali had entered their respective SEED modes because the other was in potential danger, Yzak decides to toss Dearka off a cliff, which has no effect. Despite having no success, Yzak decides to challenge Athrun once more.

With Yzak and Dearka engaging both Kira and Athrun in a beach volleyball game, Yzak attempts to keep both opponents from returning the ball by drawing Haro on the ball, but his poor drawing only causes Kira and Athrun to return the ball immediately, hitting Yzak in the face. Before the pair can get their final point, Yzak uses Dearka's foot to return the ball, and the bad smell of Dearka's foot causes Kira and Athrun to panic, and the two accidentally knock themselves out.

Sensing an opportunity, Yzak begins scoring points until he and Dearka are a single point away from victory. Before he can properly serve, he sees both Lacus and Cagalli nursing Kira and Athrun respectively. Burning with jealously, Yzak is finally able to enter SEED mode, but as he hits the ball to the opposing side, he uses too much force and destroys the volleyball, costing them the game.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • In some Japanese merchandise and other products, Yzak's family name may be romanized as Joule. In Gundam SEED: OMNI vs ZAFT Portable, Yzak is named Isaac.
  • When Yzak attempts to kill Shani Andras, Shani fires the Forbidden's Hresvelgr at Yzak. Yzak blocks the blast with the Duel's already damaged shield resulting in an explosion. This tears off the Duel's Assault Shroud. This may be a symbol of Yzak ending his vendetta with Kira Yamato because the reason Yzak had the Assault Shroud mounted onto the Duel was to obtain revenge for the humiliation he previously suffered. Also after he loses the shroud Yzak aids by protecting the Archangel.
  • Yzak is also characterized by his loyalty to ZAFT and his commanding officer Rau Le Creuset, not unlike the fanatical devotion Anavel Gato had for the Principality of Zeon and Gihren Zabi in Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.
  • Yzak acts as the central character for the Omake Quarters Drama CD Vol 1., where he ends up helping reorganize ZAFT under its new chairwoman Lacus only to have to escort a lost Kira through their conference center, as well as having a meeting with his mother, who has recently acquired multiple robot maids.
  • Yzak's Japanese voice actor, Tomokazu Seki, also voiced Domon Kasshu from Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Tomache Massarik of Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.
  • Michael Adamthwaite, Yzak's English voice actor, also voiced Ribbons Almark from Gundam 00.
  • Yzak came in 6th place in the Anime Grand Prix 27th (2004).
  • In SRW Games with a SEED scenario, he was often a secret character due to his loyalty to ZAFT, compared to Dearka who joins the group normally.
    • An exception to this is in SRW J, where he joins automatically by the time of the final battle of the SEED plotline.
  • Yzak is featured as the pilot for the Duel Gundam Assault Shroud in the Extreme Vs. series, where he is also able to sacrifice the Assault Shroud to gain more mobility and melee options with the Duel by itself. In Extreme Vs. 2, Yzak gained the ability to replace the lost Assault Shroud should it be sacrificed.
    • As a hero from Jachin Due, he is given special notice by SEED Destiny's ZAFT pilots. Yzak particularly gets along with Impulse Shinn Asuka; of whom he has heard many things from Athrun. He and Heine Westenfluss introduce themselves respectively as members of the Le Creuset and Hawkin teams and compete to show which of the two are better.
    • Yzak will comment on the frequency of masked pilots which he believes are impersonators of Commander Le Creuset. Yzak also takes particular notice to Zeheart Galette, who insists that he is his own person.
    • Due to him sharing his voice actor with Domon, several characters from G Gundam will mistake him for the latter. Yzak is particularly annoyed by both Schwarz Bruder and Allenby Beardsley, mystified by the eccentric appearance and tone of the former, and pestered by the latter's teasing. Conversely, Domon is mistaken for Yzak by Dearka.
    • Yzak questions why civilians like Sol Ryuune L'ange and Selene McGriff are in the field of battle, but he is surprised with the Stargazer's performance.
  • In SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays, If both SEED and SEED Destiny Yzak become the pilot of God Gundam, he will make some lines referencing Domon Kasshu when he do the God Finger, this is a seiyuu joke as both Yzak and Domon are voiced by the same person.
    • If the SEED version of Yzak uses the God Finger, he will do a catchphrase which Domon always says before doing the erupting finger, only to him to confuse himself before the catchphrase ends.
    • If the SEED Destiny version of Yzak uses the God Finger, he will say that he knew a thing or two about the school of Master Asia and ask himself if he did the heat end correctly.
