The GF13-003NEL John Bull Gundam (aka Royal Gundam in the English dub) is a long-range mobile fighter featured in the anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam. It is piloted by the three-time Gundam Fight winner, Gentle Chapman of Neo England.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The John Bull Gundam is the latest incarnation of the Britain Gundam, the mobile fighter which former champion Gentle Chapman used to win the 9th, 10th, and 11th Gundam Fights. While Chapman's boxing prowess makes the John Bull Gundam formidable even in close combat, he prefers to use his unrivaled marksmanship skills to shoot down his foes at long range. The head is equipped with electronic equipment to support the ailing fighter.
Armaments[]
- Vulcan Gun
- Machine Cannon
- Long Beam Rifle
History[]
Neo England's John Bull Gundam was a suit built for a champion. In fact, Gentle Chapman won the 9th, 10th and 11th Gundam Fights consecutively in the Britain Gundam, which gave Neo England control of the universe from FC 40 to FC 56. Chapman would eventually be defeated in the finals by Master Asia.
Despite his skills and his previous victories, Chapman's body took a beating from his many battles, and as a result he became addicted to stimulants to keep him in focus. His wife Manon decided to secretly help him by cheating during the Gundam Fights. She set up sensor scrambling fog machines and remote-controlled MET6-MS Casshing mobile suits to wear down enemies so that Chapman could finish them off from long-range. Neo France's George de Sand was defeated in such a manner, but luckily Chapman missed Gundam Rose's head. George subsequently warned Neo Japan's Domon Kasshu of the impending danger. During a battle with Chapman, Domon's GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam nearly fell victim to the same tactics, but Domon was assisted by George and able to defeat Chapman. Despite being disqualified by losing his Gundam's head, Chapman was later allowed to enter the Gundam Fight Finals with another disqualified Fighter, Neo Italy's Michelo Chariot. By this time Chapman had become a mindless minion of the JDG-00X Devil Gundam, and his John Bull Gundam was able to transform into the Grand Gundam, which became a menace to the Shuffle Alliance.

Notes & Trivia[]
- The John Bull Gundam's name references the fictional English character "John Bull", the English analogue to America's fictional "Uncle Sam" character. The English dub may have changed the Gundam's name to "Royal Gundam" to avoid political themes.
