History[]
One Year War[]
In U.C. 0079, it was occupied by the Principality of Zeon, and under the command of M'Quve, it became a resource extraction center for Zeon, a nation with little national strength. The resources mined in the area were sent into space, and M'Quve, who knew the amount of resources mined in the area, boldly stated that "Zeon can fight for another 10 years".
The Earth Federation Forces launched Operation Odessa, which made the area one of the fiercest battlegrounds in the One Year War, and it was finally recaptured by the overwhelming volume of the Federation Forces.
Wrath of Varuna[]
After the recapture, the mining base was placed under the control of the Federation Forces, but after the war, its defensive capability was not at full strength due to the effects of disarmament. Later, in U.C. 0081, Zeon remnants attacked the frontline base. The Phantom Sweep Corps, which had been deployed to reinforce the defensive forces, joined in the interception, but in the meantime, the Invisible Knights, a Zeon special forces unit, robbed the MS-08TX/N Efreet Nacht, which had been placed at the base. Despite the efforts of the Phantom Sweep Corps, the Invisible Knights succeeded in breaking away, and the garrison suffered extensive damage.
